Websites
AARP (American Association of Retired Persons). www.aarp.org
There are so many websites out there to assist with caregiving for elderly parents that I don’t know where to start.
Books
How to Care for Aging Parents by Virginia Morris. Revised 3 times since its publication in 1996. For parents of young kids, this is your equivalent of Baby and Toddler 411. I own this in hardcopy AND Kindle because it’s been that useful.
Holding the Line: Caregiving for My Mother on the Tightrope of Aging by hospice expert Melanie Merriman.
Podcasts
Raising ‘Rents Podcast by Zack Demopoulos. **My Favorite**. Zack owns a home health agency and his podcast includes informative episodes on topics such as hiring an in-home caregivers, Medicare, aging in place, and assisted living.
Better Health while Aging by Dr. Leslie Kernisan. More health focused. Topics include flu shots, memory loss, late care insurance, and even constipation.
